Frank Dooley (John Candy) has been unfairly fired from his job as a police officer during a corrupt cover up. Norman Kane (Eugene Levy) has also lost his job as a hire paid lawyer after getting disbarred. Now the two meet as they take much lower paying jobs as security guards. When they refuse to give in to the labor union leaders to pay $15 each week, the company gives them the choice assignment of guarding toxic waste. During their evening shifts, the two become friends and wish they had a way to redeem themselves from the unjust accusations that have cost them so much. What they don’t realize is that they are about to uncover a smuggling plot that will give them each the recognition they both long for. But at what cost will this discovery be made?
